You are unique and original, and your jewelry should be too! Each drop of glass is handmade in the artist’s backyard studio in Berkeley, California. Using a giant magnifying glass to focus sunshine, recycled bottles and stained glass were melted into these translucent, flowing drops under the open sky! No pieces are exactly alike.
Show off your favorite drink with jewelry made from recycled glass bottles - or just bask in the vibrant glow of light shining through translucent stained glass.
Are you tired of having to polish your silver? Tarnish-resistant Argentium sterling silver is easy maintenance, with a brighter, whiter color than traditional sterling silver. And, it is 100% recycled! (Not only is mining terrible for the environment in various ways, working with recycled silver uses only 5% as much energy (and emissions) compared with virgin silver ore. Now that’s eco-friendly!)
Best of all, you don’t have to worry about allergic reactions. Naturally hypoallergenic, Argentium silver is nickel-free.
Your jewelry will arrive in a classic white jewelry box tied with a ribbon.
Polish with a soft cloth, such as an eyeglasses or jewelry polishing cloth. Never use tissue or paper towels, as the fibers may scratch the metal.
If needed, wash with mild soap in warm water and dry completely with a soft cloth. (Moisture is a leading cause of tarnish, so never put your jewelry away while still damp!)
You shouldn’t merely be satisfied, I want you to LOVE your jewelry! Feel free to include special instructions with your order in the notes section during checkout - request short or long droplets, bubble-free glass drops, a date you need it by, or anything else. Contact me with any problems, and I will repair or replace any broken pieces free of charge.

How strong are Sundrops?
Very strong. Most of the time, they will not break if dropped, even onto concrete. However, sitting or stepping on them may break them.
What materials are used to make the jewelry?
We use stained art glass or recycled bottle glass to make the droplets themselves. All wire and ear hooks are hypo-allergenic sterling silver, and the sterling silver wire is 100% recycled. Necklaces come on sterling silver chain.
How to take care of Sundrops?
Polish with a soft cloth, such as an eyeglasses or jewelry polishing cloth. Never use tissue or paper towels, as the fibers may scratch the metal.
If needed, wash with mild soap in warm water and dry completely with a soft cloth. (Moisture is a leading cause of tarnish, so never put your jewelry away while still damp!)
Where did you get this idea?
To my knowledge, no one else uses sunlight to melt glass in this way. A friend of mine, back when he was 14, got his hands on this giant magnifying glass - and, being a teenager in rural Alaska, went around burning everything he could find! He melted lines in the beach sand, and started making these neat little glass teardrops...Fast forward a decade or so, and we went into business together.Fast forward another decade or so, and while he has moved on to other things - like studying tsunami geology and month-long camping trips on glaciers with his wife and two young kids - I’m still making Sundrop Jewelry and loving playing with glass!
