An ombre cluster of glass droplets ranging from magenta to lavender, these earrings are reminiscent of the colorful grape clusters seen throughout wine country's Napa Valley.

I was inspired to make these earrings by the varying pinks and lavenders of these tiny teardrops, transforming stained glass into elegant ombre earrings with just sunlight and gravity (and the help of a giant magnifying glass)! Every time you move your head and feel these earrings dance, you'll be reminded of the sunshine you're carrying with you - even indoors or on the stormiest day.

Each drop of glass is handmade in the artist’s backyard studio in Berkeley, California. Using a giant magnifying glass to focus sunshine, recycled bottles and stained glass were melted into these translucent, flowing drops under the open sky!

Are you tired of having to polish your silver? Tarnish-resistant Argentium sterling silver is easy maintenance, with a brighter, whiter color than traditional sterling silver. Where did you get this idea?

To my knowledge, no one else uses sunlight to melt glass in this way. A friend of mine, back when he was 14, got his hands on this giant magnifying glass - and, being a teenager in rural Alaska, went around burning everything he could find! He melted lines in the beach sand, and started making these neat little glass teardrops...Fast forward a decade or so, and we went into business together.Fast forward another decade or so, and while he has moved on to other things - like studying tsunami geology and month-long camping trips on glaciers with his wife and two young kids - I’m still making Sundrop Jewelry and loving playing with glass!
